Our Hollis kindergartners are learning about the Caldecott Award in the library! I'm so excited to be sharing some of these wonderful books, with their award-winning illustrations, to our growing readers. This week, after learning about how the Caldecott is a special book award given to illustrators of outstanding books, I shared my favorite Caldecott winning book, Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak.
After reading this wonderful book, our kindergartners got to create monsters of their own using paper plates and a variety of monster parts! They did a great job making their very creative monsters!
